It is a matter of great opportunity for us to have a troupe from Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai coming over to this part of the country and performing for us.

A seven days long trip, travelling from one city to another and performing with the best vigour and zeal; this troupe couldn’t have got any more admiration from the enthralled audience.

On 6th Feb 2020, they mesmerized the spectators at Silchar in Banga Bhawan with a Production called the ‘Shanti Sutra’. The choreography, the energy, the technical aspects, everything seemed flawless.
The next day, 7th Feb 2020, the troupe moved on to Shillong enjoying the scenic beauty of the area. The chill of the city extended a warm welcome to the group and they were up on stage in the evening. Commendably we witnessed a high number of viewers turning up for a Bharatnatyam Recital in the city of rock-music lovers.
On 8th Feb 2020, the third day was for the troupe to mesmerize the audience in Guwahati at the Balaji Temple Auditorium. They presented an excellent high-energy Bharatnatyam Recital and the auditorium echoed with applause.

The Art and Culture lovers of Jorhat and Mangaldoi had the opportunity to witness the ‘Shanti Sutra’ in Theater Hall on 9th Feb 2020 and the District Library on 10th Feb 2020 respectively. The artists presented the show with growing exuberance with each passing day. The Director of Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai, Smt Revathy Ramachandran was also present on both the days encouraging her troupe. As host cities, Jorhat and Mangaldoi did their best with Senior local artists attending the shows alongside a houseful of audience and huge ovation.
The concluding day of this trip was arranged at the Sri Sri Madhavadeva International Auditorium at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra on 11th Feb 2020. Amongst the massive audience we had many dignitaries too. The scintillating performance awed every eye.

Traveling each day tirelessly and exhibiting the best in them are some attributes of great artists and we saw it in this troupe from Chennai. We thank Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai and Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati for collaborating together for arranging this spectacle for Assam and Meghalaya.
